Recently, I learned from the official website of the Institute of world economics and politics, Chinese Academy of social sciences, Fan Qiao, the 2018 doctoral student of the school of economics, and Guo Aijun, the doctoral supervisor, jointly published the paper "an improved method of total factor productivity accounting embedded in spatial econometric analysis" in the 8th issue of "Research on quantitative economy, technology and economy" in 2019, which was selected into the "top 10 list of the best papers in world economic statistics in 2019" (see Table 1) http://iwep.cssn.cn/cbw/cbw_ xsqk/xsqk_ sjjjnj/xsqk_ nrxd/202009/t20200902_ 5178018.shtml)。
This paper extends the production function of Solow residual method from non spatial model to general nested spatial model and its degradation model, and investigates the accounting method of total factor productivity under the assumption of endogenous or exogenous setting of spatiotemporal weight matrix and binary or multivariate input factors. Through the application of total factor productivity accounting at the provincial level, it is found that the improved Solow residual method embedded in spatial econometric analysis is more accurate than the traditional method. The key lies in the optimization process of general nested space model and its degradation model, and different optimal models correspond to different factor input share calculation formulas. The innovation of this paper lies in: under the framework of spatial econometric analysis, the Solow residual method of total factor productivity accounting is improved, which is conducive to the organic combination of spatial econometric analysis and Solow residual method.
It is reported that the "best paper" of world economics refers to the paper with the greatest academic influence in the sample period. It is measured by the following four indicators: publication impact factor, the number of other papers cited in the target paper, the number of expert votes obtained, and the number of downloads. Within the scope of all the papers included in the vote, these indicators were given weights of 0.1, 0.6, 0.2 and 0.1 respectively after the dimensionality was removed, and the comprehensive scores (between 0 and 1) were weighted and ranked according to the scores from high to low. The top 10 papers are the best.
The selected papers are selected from the 2019 public issue journals, including 31 Chinese journals published in Chinese mainland and English Chinese journals published worldwide.
The composite impact factors of Chinese journals come from CNKI, while the simple impact factors of English journals in recent 10 years come from ideas / RePEc. The citation data of Chinese papers are from CNKI, while the citation data of English papers are from scholar Google. The data collection time is June 5-7, 2020. The number of expert votes for the paper comes from the expert survey organized by the editorial department of the World Economic Yearbook (July 11-18, 2020), which is conducted separately according to the sub disciplines of world economics. The download times of Chinese papers are from CNKI, and the data collection time is August 21, 2020; The download data of English papers are not easy to obtain and are not included in the score calculation.
The top 10 of the best papers will be published in the World Economic Yearbook 2020.
