The First School of Economics Branch of Lanzhou University Alumni Association was held at the Yifu Science Museum. More than 150 alumni from all over the country gathered together to talk about their friendship and plan for the development of the college, celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Alma Mater. Yuan Zhanting, party secretary of Lanzhou University, Gao Xincai, honorary dean of school of economics of Lanzhou University, President of Henan University of Economics and Law, Fan Baojun, assistant president of Lanzhou University and other officials attended the meeting. The conference was chaired by Guo Aijun, dean of the School of Economics.

Members of the preparatory committee of the School of Economics Branch of the Alumni Association of Lanzhou University held a meeting before the founding meeting to discuss and determine the proposed membership of the council, executive directors and responsible persons. After the founding meeting, the first Alumni forum of the General Assembly of School of Economics Branch was held.

With the guidance and help of the Grand Alumni Association and the School of Economics, after more than two years of repeated deliberation, liaison, coordination and preparation by preparatory group and alumni,  consensus has been reached upon the purpose of the conference, the willingness to organize the conference and the candidates for the organization. Lanzhou University Alumni Association School of Economics Branch was established, which laid a good foundation for exploring the connection mechanism of alumni with the college as the carrier, continuing to inherit and carry forward the spirit of "Continuous Self-improvement and Uniqueness" of the Alma Mater, strengthening the contact among alumni, and gathering the feelings of alumni.
