As one of the important branches of economics, space economics shows its comparative advantage of theoretical interpretation and enduring charm of practical guidance under the joint action of contemporary regional economy and geopolitics. Since 2009, China's annual conference on spatial economics has been successfully held for 12 sessions, which has been strongly supported and widely recognized by scholars in relevant disciplines such as regional economics, urban economics, industrial economics, economic geography, urban and rural planning and government decision-making consulting departments at home and abroad. It has become an annual event in the field of spatial economics in China.

In order to further study and deeply understand Xi Jinping's new socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics, he always adheres to the "four faces" and completes the "four services", fully promotes academic exchanges between China and foreign experts and scholars in space economics, promotes the development and application of spatial economics theory, and promotes the ecological protection and high quality development of the Yellow River basin. The school of economics of Lanzhou University plans to hold the 13th China Annual Conference on Spatial Economics from October 30 to 31, 2021.
